Jim joined the Rotary Club of Menomonee Falls, WI in April 1977. He served as club president in 1985/86 and later as a Governor’s Group Representative. Following a move to Arizona in late 2006, Jim was accepted as a member of the Superstition Mountain Rotary Club, serving as club president in 2009/10. In subsequent years Jim served his district as an Assistant Governor.
During his 40 plus years in Rotary, Jim has traveled to India for NIDS, led a GSE team to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and traveled to Mexico in connection with the Micro Lending initiative. Jim is an active supporter of the Rotary Foundation, making contributions to both the annual fund and the PolioPlus fund. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society.
A third generation Rotarian, Jim attained the rank of Eagle Scout while growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following high school, Jim entered the United States Air Force Academy, graduating in 1969. He attended undergraduate pilot training at Williams AFB in Arizona, where he met his wife. Jim and Maryann, also a Paul Harris Fellow, were married in July 1971. Jim resigned his commission in 1974 leaving the Air Force to help his father in the family metal stamping business. He went on to run the company for 30 years following his father’s death in 1976.
Rotary has been an important part of Jim’s life. He looks forward to continued service.
Meeting Location & Agenda
Our meeting this week will be at Chef Peter's Bistro. Sun Village Community Center - 17300 N Sun Village Pkw, Surprise, AZ 85374.
The meeting will be in Chef Peter's Bistro (the newest iteration of the community center restaurant in the Sun Village Community Center).
Chef Peter is putting out a special spread for us so we can sample his new menu. There will be a special buffet set-up in our room for just our club with salad, beef, chicken, sides and veggies. The cost is only $12.99 per person and this includes non-alcoholic beverages. What a deal !! There will be 2 waitresses assigned to our room. Come hungry and bring a date or a friend or neighbor or business associate. You will pay the waitress just like a regular restaurant visit. Don't forget the tip !!

Guest Presentation - District Governor, Jim Erickson
Tom grew up in the state of Michigan and graduated from Hope College and later earned his Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix. Tom is currently working on adding his CFP designation.
Tom Seros is a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Tom has worked in the Surprise area since 2007.
Previously, Tom worked as a teacher where he prepared his students for the life ahead. That experience prepared Tom for his current job as a financial advisor where he is helping people plan for and live in retirement.
Tom is happily married to his lovely wife, Cathy. He has two children, Tommy and Alyssa ages 20 and 14.
Tom enjoys playing cards and reading in is spare time.
Helping others is a way of life for Tom therefore Rotary is a natural fit for him. He enjoys working in the various Rotary projects and fundraisers. Recently he participated in the AARP furniture distribution which was no small task.
